THINKING

Last night I watched the anti-war rally on C-Span that took place in Washington D.C. on Saturday and was disgusted.

Why is the left incapable of focusing it's energy on a single issue event, even an event with a specific purpose now overwhelmingly supported by a a majority of Americans?

Nearly every speaker who came up to the podium confused the purpose of the day by plugging their own personal crusades in their speeches: gay rights, anti-capitalism, reproductive rights, free Mumia, Palestine, solar power, you name it and somebody brought it up.

How difficult is it to say today is dedicated to making progress toward ending an unjust war and nothing else.

Leave your laundry list at the door because Americans and Iraqis are dying every day and we've got to stop this war as soon as possible.

Each time you drift off on one of your diatribes about unrelated issues or Bush being a war criminal or how he should be impeached, you shift the focus away from the fundamental issue that is being addressed.

The war must end and it must end now.

It was unjustified from the start and it remains an unjust war.

Period.
